1. Simple Sentence ประกอบด้วย Main Clause (M.C) หนึ่ง Clause

Ex.

1. The fruit yielded by Phil Rowe's earliest experiments in cross-breeding are very small.
2. He believes that the threats bananas.
3. The reason bananas are so susceptible to disease has to do with their ancient origins.

4. The diversity of fruit in Aguilar's field is astonishing.

5. That sameness is the banana's paradox.

2. Compound Sentence ประกอบด้วย Main Clause ตั้งแต่ 2 Main Clause ขึ้นไป (M.C+M.C) ซึ่งระหว่าง M.C ทั้งสอง จะเชื่อมด้วย Coordinating Conjunction (คำสันธาน) Conjunction หลักๆที่ต้องจำมีดังนี้

for : The dog barked fiercely,for there was a stranger in front of the house.

and : I walked home and I was tired.

nor : I haven’t done any homework, nor do I intend to do so.

but :Thailand is a beautiful country, but still it has many poor people.

or : He finally read the book , or so I thought.

yet : Everyone wants to take part in the election yet no one wants to learn about democracy.

so : The computer crashed, so I lost all of my work.

มีวิธีการจำ conjunction ของ Compound Sentence ซึ่งเคยมีอาจารย์ฝรั่งสอนไว้ให้จำเรียงกันดังนี้ค่ะ for and nor but or yet soที่ให้เรียงกันแบบนี้ เพราะอักษรตัวหน้า สามารถนำมาเรียงกันเป็น fan boys ค่ะ

Ex .

3. Complex Sentence ถือเป็นประโยคที่มีความสลับซับซ้อนที่สุดของภาษาอังกฤษ แต่ถ้าเรารู้จักส่วนประกอบของมันเป็นส่วนๆมาตั้งแต่ต้น ตามที่ได้เล่าให้ฟังมาแล้ว ก็สามารถทำความเข้าใจกับมันได้ไม่ยากค่ะ การ break Complex Sentence ได้เองเป็นส่วนๆ จะช่วยเราได้อย่างดีมากเรื่องการอ่านอีกด้วย
Complex Sentence ทั่วๆไปจะประกอบด้วย Subordinate Clause ตั้งแต่ 1 Clause ขึ้นไป และ 1 main clause โดยจะมี SC นำหน้า MC หรือ MC นำหน้า SC ก็ได้ มีข้อสังเกตการใช้ punctuation mark สำหรับประโยคชนิดนี้ก็คือ ถ้า SC นำหน้า จะต้องตามด้วย comma ,ยกเว้นแต่บางครั้ง comma อาจจะไม่จำเป็น ถ้า Clause ที่นำหน้ามีเนื้อความสั้นๆจนไม่สับสน
